Stress Management
There are many ways to manage your stress and experts would tell you that there are things you can control and things you can't. The first step in managing your stress is to determine what is causing you stress and ask yourself if you can control these factors or not. Let's work on the items within our control.

We are all multi-dimensional and have five senses. One practice I use is to change something that I see, hear, taste, touch, or smell. As a couple, we make it a part of our lives to go away and change scenery at least once every two months.

Go to places where you enjoy the scenery and love the temperatures. Our preference is usually tropical and if we want to have flexibility on the food and beverages and don't want to go broke trying everything, we'll vacation at least once a year in an all-inclusive resort. For many people who come to Vegas one of the coolest ways to relieve stress is to get away from the noise and lights of the casinos and the Las Vegas Strip and go north about 45 minutes to Mt. Charleston and stay in a private cabin or rent a room in the hotel on Mt Charleston. The Lodge at Mt Charleston offers casual dining overlooking the mountainside and you can sit inside if it's cold or outside and just relax.

Take a peacefil walk down one of the many paths or be more adventurous and have a total workout hike through the mountains. There is no charge for hiking at Mt. Charleston, the expense you'll have is a little gas getting up there. When you enter Mt. Charleston area you are at about 3,000 feet and you drive up the mountain your elevation is over 7,000 ft by the time you reach the Mt. Charleston Lodge.

What all this means is that you can be on the Las Vegas Strip in the winter and it's perfectly clear and head less than an hour away to be in the middle of snow.

There is an amazing Ski and Snow resort above 12,000 ft and it's definitely the Winter attraction.

We looked on Expedia recently and found some mid-week nights at the hotel at Mt Charleston for $20. You can't do to much nowadays for $20 so you'll probably find us in the  mountains.

Another favorite activity we love is to drive up the I-15 North from Vegas and go into Utah. Utah has mineral hot springs and even baths made of vintage old bathtubs you can soak in on the side of a mountain. I'm relaxed already.

You haven't completed your trip of the West until you've been to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.
